Ministry of Mining and Energy

The Ministry of Mining and Energy was established on the 23rd of January, 2009, to oversee the solid minerals and petroleum sectors of Edo State. Since its inception, the ministry has played a crucial role in the development and regulation of the mining sector in Edo State, Nigeria. 

Vision

To harness all available solid mineral and petroleum resources for the overall development of the State with particular reference to mineral producing communities thereby making Edo State a core Oil and Mineral producing State

Mission

To facilitate the implementation of Government policies in revenue generation from solid minerals including oil and gas, and for infrastructural development and job creation from the exploitation of solid mineral, oil and gas for the people of the State.

We Do

  • Overseeing the solid minerals and petroleum sectors of Edo State.
  • Developing and regulating the mining sector in Edo State.
  • Implementing Government policies in revenue generation from solid minerals, including oil and gas.
  • Facilitating infrastructural development and job creation from the exploitation of solid mineral, oil, and gas.
  • Harnessing all available solid mineral and petroleum resources for the overall development of the State, with particular reference to mineral-producing communities, thereby making Edo State a core oil and mineral-producing State.
